The Timberlake Family 2014

The Timberlake Family 2014

Hi! My name is Tracy. I am 38 years old and live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I’ve been married to Andrew for 17 years and together we raise our beautiful children: Amie (19), Jess (15), Cael (5) and Cadence (3), and our youngest baby boy Ezra, born 20 January 2016. The children have been home-educated from birth and Andrew runs his own business from a home office, so we like to call ourselves a “24 hour family”.

I enjoy following a number of blogs and websites. I have learnt so much from what others have willingly shared of themselves. Tea With Tracy is my way of joining in and making a contribution. Over the years I’ve been asked many times if I had a blog and some requested I start one. Well, here it is, a place to share my thoughts and a bit of my life with anyone interested.

I have a wide variety of interests so you’ll find an eclectic mix of topics here, a little bit about a whole lot. I love the Lord and His body, the Church, and my faith underpins my perspective on my other interests. I care about marriage, motherhood and family, find frugality fun, enjoy reading, cooking, growing food and am interested in environmental issues, health and the arts. Together with my family we delight to serve in music, youth and missions-focussed ministries and strive to be hospitable in every regard.

In the virtual world it is easy, perhaps even tempting, to portray oneself unrealistically. I seek to be real and honest and accountable.

I’ve always found that at any moment in time a cup of tea and a chat with someone else is good. No matter what my mood – happy, sad, worried, excited – a cup of tea is a perfect companion. Even my morning quiet times of prayer and reading my Bible are spent with a cup of tea.

Woven through my memory are late night conversations sprinkled with laughter and crying, early morning cuppas over which hopes and plans were discussed, and many heart-to-heart talks that drew me closer to another, deepened understanding, solved issues and shared joys and burdens…. with friends, sisters, cousins, my Gran, my aunt, my husband, my daughters, and even complete strangers……different places, different faces, but always with a cup of tea.

So get your tea (or brew of choice), pull up a chair, and let’s chat. I’m glad you’re here. Thank you for dropping by.

(I have committed to keeping this blog a lower priority than Andrew, our children, our home and ministry – all of whom keep me quite busy – so if I write infrequently, please understand it is simply because I am needed more by those most important to me.)
